Your little one has new white sparkling pop-ups the soft little gums? They can not only talk but also chew and bite. So it’s time for you to bring in your Dental Hygiene habits in your child. Dental hygiene is one of the most important habits which needs to be inculcated in every child. Just like how you as a parent teach good manners, dental hygiene must be indoctrinated in the childhood, so that it becomes a part of their life.
As parents, you should always ensure dental hygiene is practiced as a family culture. Keeping the teeth, gums, and mouth clean must be one of the important mantra of hygiene practiced at home, preventing from all kinds of infections, diseases, pain, and sickness. A well-cleaned teeth give a happy and fresh sensation to the mind, body, and soul. Here are some most common tips to keep your kid’s teeth clean and white.
1. Use of lemon and baking soda:
An age-old technique from Grandma’s basket of natural home remedies. With a freshly squeezed lemon juice, add half a teaspoon of baking soda. You will notice the chemical reaction to bubble formation. Wipe your teeth, tongue, and gums with a piece of cotton before rubbing the mixture on the same. Rest it for a minute before brushing the teeth. Do not leave the mixture for more than a minute, since the acid might corrode the tooth enamel. Get your teeth white and clean in a few minutes.
2. Use of fruit peel:
Fruit peels are commonly used for whitening of the teeth. Use the inside of banana or orange peel to rub it over the teeth. The peel is a rich source of magnesium, manganese, and potassium which rejuvenates the enamel. It is usually practiced twice a week for a few minutes.
3. Brushing habits:
Inculcate the habit of brushing and flossing the teeth twice a day. One after the breakfast in the morning and once just before going to bed. Besides this, ensure they brush the teeth always after they consume sweet products and aerated drinks. A consistent pattern of brushing and flossing will give them white and clean teeth in the long run.
4. Sugar or citric foods:
Take a close look at your sugar machine of your child. Most doctors advice not to consume too much of sugary or citric foods or aerated drinks, which are the causative agents of tooth decay and staining in the tooth. Eating in moderation and practicing good habits of brushing and flossing after consumption of such products can help to preserve the tooth enamel.
5. Consume hard fruits and vegetables:
Besides being a great source of healthy foods, hard fruits and vegetables also help to keep your kids’ teeth white and clean. Fruits and vegetables such as apples, pears, carrots, radish, pears, etc., help in eradicating the surface stains and bacteria from the teeth and in turn aiding to keep the teeth hygienic and shining.
