Today’s product review is dedicated to a brand which uses oats as the main ingredient for their skincare range! So, for the little ones who have irritated, itchy skin, here is what we recommend

A baby care brand which has been there for so long (since 1945), and relies heavily on the most amazing and natural product apt for the softest skin (read oats), needs to be mentioned on our blog. Isn’t it?

It did take us awhile to review the products from the esteemed house of AVEENO, but it’s okay to be late than never. After having received a range of 2-3 products from their portfolio available here in India, we decided to review a couple of them. Don’t forget to click on our video review (the 4-day challenge).Oat based skin care products 01

Before we even start talking about AVEENO, here is a bit that we’d like to share with our readers- new parents, experienced parents, parents with pre-schoolers or tweens, if you have been worried about the sensitive skin of your little ones, or if you the changing weather of your city has been a concern, then we recommend you do read on.

There are very limited products out there in the market which are worth trusting. Very few baby and kids products are actually taking care of your baby’s skin, nurturing their body’s topmost gentle coating. Besides, we all want our kids to have healthy, shiny skin and hair. Don’t we?

AVEENO is a sure shot response to the most frequently asked question put up on the FB mom communities we have been following religiously. The brand uses select natural ingredients because of their advanced benefits. These are called active naturals, natural ingredients uniquely formulated to deliver visible results. Scientists at AVEENO follow highest standards of ingredient selection, formulation, and manufacturing processes that retain the strength and purity of such ingredients.

So, without wasting much of your time, presenting to you, the two most popular products from AVEENO’s portfolio. Our reviews are out now:

Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion (Fragrance-Free):

Check out our 4-day challenge video to see the results of this product’s regular application!

Product Review: Imagine the goodness of oats (Avena Satiya) in your baby’s daily bath regime? Oats as the main ingredient works really well as a natural skin cleanser. Whether your child has sensitive or dry skin, it doesn’t strip its natural oils. This is why we trust Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion as it contains natural colloidal oatmeal blended with rich emollients that soothe your baby’s delicate skin. The naturally nourishing, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly, moisturizes for a full 24 hours. What we also like about Aveeno’s range of by-products is the fact that most of their products are fragrance-free. This means they contain no drying alcohols and won’t clog pores.Oat based skin care products 02

How to use it: Apply the lotion directly on your baby’s skin as required and massage it gently. You could follow this before as well as post the bath.

Patch test: If you are a bit skeptical to try it out on your baby’s ultra-sensitive skin, we recommend- try and nominate your own skin for a patch-test first.

What we loved about this product:

  • Excellent substitute for a rash-free cream: It relieves dry, itchy, irritated skin and works really well on diaper rashes, Chicken Pox, Eczema, and insect bites.
  • Oats being the main ingredient imparts the anti-pruritic element to this product. This really helps control the itching that is inherent to various skin diseases and fungal infections.

Product Rating:

  • Overall packaging: 4.5/5
  • User-friendly: 5/5
  • Effectiveness: 5/5
  • Cost: 3.5/5Oat based skin care products 03

Aveeno Baby Cleansing Therapy Moisturizing Wash:

Product Review: A ‘cleansing therapy moisturizing wash’? What’s that? Well, it is an ultra-gentle wash to help you care for your baby’s skin. It sure is a breakthrough formula which is based on the goodness of oat as it combines it’ soothing essence and Active Naturals Colloidal Oatmeal with rich emollients to soften and soothe irritated, extra-dry skin, and gently cleanses without damaging the skin’s barrier. It’s even been awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance. It’s fragrance-free, dye free and alcohol-free. And. That’s why it is our preferred choice.

How to use it: It’s easy. Twist off the cap and remove quality seal. Squeeze onto hands or a soft cloth. Apply to baby’s skin and spread gently. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are on a travel trip though.

Patch test: If you are a bit skeptical to try it out on your baby’s ultra-sensitive skin, we recommend- try and nominate your own skin for a patch-test first.
