This Christmas, I extend prayers for a mother, who is yet to be a mother and the one who once was a mother.
There is a mother, a new mom, a working mom, a stay at home mom. There is an angry mother, an upset mother, a loving mother, a caring mother, a silly mother, a relaxed mother, a lazy mother, a hyperactive mother. A teacher mother, an engineer mother, a journalist mother, a writer mother, a mommy to be, and then…
Then, there is a mother, who is yet to be a mother…
..and then there is a mother one who was once a mother…
Yes, YOU are a mother. Being a mother isn’t just about having a child you can call yours!
You became one the day you decided to be strong. Strength is the virtue of a mother. In god’s eyes, you have been the most loving mother.
God is there for you:
God is just testing your patience and he is holding you tight. He doesn’t want to let go of you. He wants you to keep him in your first morning prayers and the last ones before you say goodnight. Yes, god is being selfish for god is your baby, your child. That precious little one who wants to take care of you. He isn’t ready for you to own him. No, not yet. Instead, he wants to hold on to you and really tight.
Prayers for a mother:
For him, you are his mother. He is the child, holding you in his arms. God has got you yearning for days, weeks, months, and years. He has counted those endless tears of yours, has often wiped them for you, counted those stars on a dark night with you. He has heard you torturing yourself with those ‘why me’ questions.
God has seen your loneliness and smells your fear. He has felt your desire and often sees you staring at yourself in the mirror with those smudged eyes. Yes, that image haunts him! God has seen you smile even when you shudder from inside, has seen your pain, he has seen your troubles. He knows your longing for your baby, your own child. The one you are yet to hold, the one you have held once and lost. God has some wonderful plans for you but for now, he is just jealous of the love that you have for the other one.
While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.” But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” – Luke 11:27
And if you are wondering where was Jesus born? Well, then take a look inside your heart. He is inside of you. So, you, the most beautiful mother, hold on to your strength. That child who is holding you in his arms loves you more than he loves any other mother. So, love him back with all that is there inside you.
This Christmas, I have you in my prayers. Here is hoping that your precious baby will snuggle up next to you and answer all your prayers.
Thank you for this reminder!
