So, it’s that time of the year when kids are eager to meet our lovely Santa. Christmas magic is everywhere. Families are busy making memories, taking gorgeous clicks of their babies sitting on Santa’s laps, gorging on yummy cakes with unique designs, huge Christmas trees, beautiful lighting, fresh cookies being served, tree ornaments on sale, silver and golden candles, candy canes, stockings, angels, bells..there is so much of a festive indulgence happening around!

1. Christmas shopping carnival (Dilli Haat Janakpuri, New Delhi)
What: This shopping carnival will exhibit a host of shopping options which include apparel, imitation jewelry, handbags, designer wear, fashion accessories, home décor, goodies, chocolates to even handicraft products. The kids will also have a gala time at the special kids’ gaming zone and stalls. Camel rides, artificial Santa Claus tattoos, and dance and play at the children’s zone are also available. The evening will host cultural performances by various local artists.

2. Winter Carnival and Christmas celebrations 2014 (Dilli Haat Pitampura, New Delhi)
What: This shopping carnival will exhibit more than 50 stalls for shopping which includes apparel, imitation jewelry, handbags, designer wear, fashion accessories, home décor, goodies, chocolates to even handicraft products. Besides delicacies, other key highlights of the event will include swings for kids and adventurous camel rides.

3. Midnight Mass at Green Park Free Church (A-24, Sri Aurobindo Marg, Green Park, New Delhi)
What: Midnight Mass is celebrated by Roman Catholics and Anglicans with the belief that Christ was born at night. Serene and full of warmth, this one is popular among Christians and non-Christians alike.

What: You can attend midnight mass at the Father Agnel School Auditorium in Hindi and English.

5. Traditional Christmas celebrations at Sacred Hearts Cathedral (1 Ashok Place, Near Gol Dak Khana, New Delhi)
What: The church organizes one of the most popular celebrations during Christmas days. If you plan to visit the church, make sure to reach on time to grab a place for your family. The most popular festivities organized are the Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth, the Christmas Vigil Service organized an hour before midnight on 24th December, and then Morning Mass on Christmas day.

6. Caroling session at The Piano Man (60, Basant Lok, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi)

7. Deora Christmas Carnival 2014 (DEORA Community Centre, Malcha Marg, Chankyapuri, New Delhi)
What: Diplomatic Enclave Owners & Residents Association will organize a Christmas carnival for your whole family and will have lots of entertaining activities for your kids. Key attractions at the carnival include Christmas boutique day & night bazaar, joy rides & games for children, delicious multi-cuisine food, live festive music, exciting raffle prizes, and a Santa Claus distributing gifts to children. The entry fee is INR 100 for 12 years and below and INR 200 for 12 years and above.

What: The Learning Place International Preschool will organize a Kids Christmas Carnival. Key attractions at the celebration include games, art & craft, science fun, culinary activity, and a magic show.

9. American Embassy Christmas Mela (American Embassy, Chandragupta Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi)
What: AWA Holiday Mela is a popular event organized by the American Embassy School for many years. It is hosted on the beautiful green lawns of the American Embassy School with free entry for all. Delhiites put up a variety of stalls and you can buy a variety of Christmas-related goods, including decorative items, handicrafts, Christmas cakes and food-items, books, etc. It also has a separate activity area for children.

10. Christmas festivities (Epicentre, Sector 44, Gurgaon, Haryana)
What: The festivities will begin with the ‘X-MAS Cook Out’, a unique culinary activity where guests can barbecue their own marinated meats. The event will host a variety of activities such as Christmas carols, a skit featuring the significance of Christmas, a soul challenging Christmas talk, and a special meeting of kids with Santa Claus. On the day of Christmas, there will be a Christmas Brunch at Drift followed by horse rides, snow area, roller skating ring, art floor– do it yourself, story-telling, huge puppets, and carnival food, etc. Kids can participate in various activities and can win prizes. The entry fee for adults is INR 1,500 and INR 780 for kids.

12. Winter Wonderland (DLF Promenade, Nelson Mandela Road, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi)
What: This year, the shopping mall is decorated in blue and white. The atrium of the mall is the hub of all the activities as the giant snow globe welcomes you and encourages you to enjoy the spirit of Christmas. There are plentiful events for the entire family and then there is snowfall at kiddy land!

13. Christmas Jamboree fun-filled & informative workshop, hosted by ‘Evolving with English’ (M-1, 61/41, West Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi)
What: The workshop includes a Christmas Carol movie for kids of 6 years and above to teach them the significance of celebrating Christmas. Everything is actually themed around the movie, that is, fun activities, live music, and jingles. There is a dress code though. Children need to be dressed in red and white. One needs to shell out Rs. 750 for the workshop!
