Raising children is never a simple task, but the better we understand our kids, the more effective parents we become. There is no definitive and specific how-to manual, but their star signs can provide shine light on your child’s true personality and nature. This makes parenting go beyond a guessing game to their temperaments and tantrums. Here is how you can navigate through life by knowing your child’s zodiac sign’s best personality traits…
Here’s what your child’s zodiac sign reveals about him/her:
Aries (March 21-April 19):
Aries is always on an adventure (or several of them together). Aries children are determined, and that kind of dogged perseverance is an incredible trait to have. These little rams want to learn new skills and thrive at finishing what they’ve started. They are natural-born leaders who can quickly become frustrated when things don’t go their way, but a few encouraging words and a pat on the back can quickly recharge your little Aries’s go-getter spirit. They love applause! Aries make great musicians or artists since practice makes perfect, and they are definitely willing to put in the effort. On the flip side, Aries kiddos are spunky, energetic little fireballs who want to explore everything headfirst . . . Whether you want them to or not.
Taurus (April 20-May 20):
Baby bulls are sweet-natured, gentle souls with the occasional wild streak. Thankfully, they enjoy hard work and are eager to help with chores, especially if there is money involved. Give these little bulls a task, and they’ll be sure it gets handled. Bulls are strong and solid, and so are Taurus children — both literally and figuratively. They’ll rarely be sick, and their steady, dependable temperament and thoughtful disposition make them lovable despite their occasionally inflexible nature. They thrive on a consistent daily routine; it gives them the feeling of stability that they crave. And when your Bull is showing those horns, your best bet is to be a calm, quieting influence. They are charming, generally peaceful and quiet; sometimes can be quite bashful, but reciprocate well to affection and give back a lot of love. You’ll get nothing out, by forcing your child to do anything. They are steady and love to work with a steady plan.
Gemini (May 21-June 20):
Gemini children are exceptional at divergent thinking – because of their zodiac than represents duality. These little problem solvers don’t take the obvious direction and are quick to approach situations from a different angle. After all, two heads are better than one. Their interests are diverse and ever-changing, and their sociable personalities make them want to talk about it all (in detail), so you’re in for a lifetime of listening. Geminis are gregarious and funny; you’ll be entertained by their exuberant nature and zest for communication. You’ll also be exhausted trying to keep up because your little Gemini will change preferences like most people change underwear — which means there will also be a lot of unfinished projects. But just remind yourself that each new undertaking is satisfying your Gemini’s rabid curiosity and keeping them from getting bored, as they so easily tend to do. The twins are known for their expressiveness and quick wit, so there’s never a dull moment when they’re around. That said, while they are indeed sociable and always ready for fun, they also have the ability to be thoughtful and serious.
Cancer (June 21-July 22):
These sensitive souls are the epitome of an idyllic dreamer. They thrive in artistic endeavors, as long as they don’t have to stay too much inside the lines. The symbol of the Cancer child is a crab, and it’s fitting — because kids born under the Cancer sign make good use of their figurative “shell.” They are naturally sensitive, and when feelings overwhelm them, they retreat protectively into themselves just like an actual crab would. As inconvenient as their sensitivity can be at times, it’s also an asset, because those soft hearts are made of gold. Cancer kids are caring and considerate. They don’t like to lead, and sometimes prefer solitude to the company of others, so keep that in mind when you’re planning their extracurricular activities. From a little age itself, the administration characteristics of a Cancerian youngster begins to appear. Parenting a Cancerian child is a really emotional job. They love to see your affection through hugs, and the way you take care of them. Deeply intuitive and sentimental, they care deeply about matters of the family, and are sympathetic and attached to those they keep close. They love to love, and aren’t shy about it.
Leo (July 23-Aug 22):
Lions are natural-born leaders, are confident, and thrive in group activities. Since they often like being the center of attention, they do good work if praise is involved. Let your little lion develop their voice by letting them lead tasks and help others. Leos want to be the best at everything and are particularly disappointed when they feel they aren’t, so positive reinforcement goes a long way for these little Lions. They are proud and love to feel important. Any opportunity to make them feel like leaders is welcome, and appealing to that ego will work in every aspect of their lives . . . even if it’s just telling them that you’re having them help you reorganize the closet because no one else does it better. They are brave and very generous and they can be nurtured well with the freedom to grow and experiment. This royal zodiac is action-oriented and driven by the desire to be loved, meaning that they crave being in the limelight.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept 22):
Virgos are the consummate perfectionists. They live for having things just so, and you can expect that they’ll love keeping a tidy room. As part of their striving for perfection, Virgos naturally love to be helpful and are eager to lend a hand. Virgo kids are naturally helpful, because anything they can do to contribute to an orderly and peaceful environment, they’ll do. A Virgo child is very helpful and generous. They can get timid when put in the limelight. They have a hard time finding true friends and would often resort to spending time alone. Here’s when they need support and space from their parents. They have a methodical approach to life, ensuring that nothing is ever left to chance. They often strive for perfection— but don’t be deceived: deep down, they have tender hearts.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22):
With their sign representing scales, Libra children want everything to be fair and balanced. So not only will they be the first to offer to share, but they’ll probably give the largest amount as well. Libras are seekers of balance and harmony. This makes them natural peacemakers, fantastic at mediating and helping people work together in compromise. They have a deep appreciation for music and beauty and thrive in a peaceful household. They love to gather knowledge practically, rather than theoretically and love to put them on display. Libra babies know sophistication and discipline by birth. They do not like to be demeaned, or belittled and over-shadowed in discussions and teamwork.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21):
Scorpios are insatiable little spitfires who thrive on activities they can do by themselves. Apt to become voracious readers (of books as well as people and situations), Scorpio children love activities that challenge their quick-working brains. Be sure to give your little scorpion a chance to play independently, and be there for them when they’re ready for a big cuddle.
Scorpios are bold and unafraid because they trust their own sharp instincts. And they’re just as intelligent as they are intuitive. They are born clever and can grasp things very quickly. Since a young age, they like to be straightforward and honest with their parents
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec 21):
The Sagittarius child has a warm, sunny personality: the smiley face emoji of the zodiac! Tender-hearted and lovers of the outdoors, Sagittarius children thrive with animals. Maybe it’s because they both like the fresh air, but the easiest way to make this sign happy is to give them an animal to care for. This is the perfect sign for taking care of a family pet, especially if that means they get to provide them with extra love and affection.
These happy-go-lucky kids are always the life of the party, because of their natural exuberance. They’re endlessly optimistic. Sagittarius children are so sure things will turn out positively that they sometimes fail to even consider the possible negative consequences. But it takes a lot to put a damper on that bright spirit, so they bounce back remarkably well when things do go awry. Little Sagittarians are very independent, and, like their sign, the Archer, are straight shooters: they’ll tell you exactly what they’re thinking, and always the truth, even if it’s painful.
Capricorn (Dec. 23-Jan. 20):
Capricorns are the old souls of the zodiac world and sometimes you will marvel at their maturity. If it seems like your Capricorn kid is trying their best, it’s because they probably are. They are ambitious and are willing to work hard to achieve what they want. They are ambitious and diligent, stable and consistent, and will actually help keep you on schedule. Their determination is unwavering, but that can also mean they’re stubborn when it comes to any change in plans or deviation from their usual path. Introduce any changes slowly, and appreciate your little Capricorn’s love of stability — and unparalleled loyalty.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb 18):
Gregarious and social, the Aquarius child can make friends with practically anyone. This social butterfly is a good listener, preferring to be in a large group where he or she can interact with others. They love group activities where their natural disposition shines. They can make friends with practically anyone. Fiercely independent and possessing a great need for personal space, Aquarian kids may not be the type to crave physical closeness. Allow for as much independence as you (and your child) can handle, and remember that a traditional path, in an Aquarian’s eyes, is not always the best one. They are extremely delightful and will pull in a great deal of consideration and will be the sweetheart of the grandparents in the family.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20):
Fish babies are impossibly kind and selfless, which is a great type of child to have. They want everyone to get along and can be a little sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of others. They want to be everyone’s best friend (usually succeeding) and like to give more than they like to receive. They are super sensitive to the energies around them, and their emotions run high. Like a real live fish, your Pieces child maybe a little on the shy side, seeking refuge in a hiding place from time to time – and mostly this means art – they have rich and fanciful imaginations and love being creative, whether through drawing or writing or simply acting out dramatic scenes with toys. Their non-aggressive nature can make them fragile for bullying at a young age, so as a parent, you must be watchful for your child’s way of communicating with you.
