1. For your lips- DIY lip balm
In order to achieve a simple makeup look, most of us sport a stunning gloss shine on our lips. Lipsticks are not always preferred, especially during the winter season when the lips are chapped. So, ladies! here is how to make your own lip balm which is delicious and smells good too! All you need is a few of these basic ingredients. So take 4 tbsp coconut oil, 4 tbsp Shea/cocoa butter, 1/4 cup of beeswax, 1 tsp each vanilla extract and sweet almond oil, and finally some dry and crushed rose petals. Heat these ingredients in a pan till everything melts. Stir it occasionally to achieve a good consistency and texture. Now let it cool, then pour it into a small container, again an emptied lip balm jar would do the trick. Pack these DIY beauty products in a small gift bag for an ideal winter-special Christmas present.
2. For your cracked heels – Foot cream
Cracked heel is an issue with most mothers. Whether its summer time or winter season, the scaly, rough heels can be quite embarrassing. So, here is a natural home remedy to treat cracked heels in a jiffy. Combine 3/4 cup of coconut oil in 1/2 cup Shea Butter in a saucepan and place it on low heat. Once these ingredients have melted, remove from heat and stir in the pot with 15 drops of lavender essential oil. Store in a glass jar with a lid and don’t forget to label it! 3. For your dull skin – Homemade moisturizer
This winter, give your body a gentle massage twice a day with your DIY moisturizer. It’s really easy to make. Take a glass jar (the emptied pickle jar works well; make sure to wash it properly and has no citric smell in it) and combine 1/2 cup Almond or olive oil with 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/4 cup beeswax and add 1 tbsp of Vitamin E oil, 2 tbsp of Shea/Cocoa Butter and for fragrance, a couple of drops of lavender essential oil.
Mix the ingredients well for which follow these instructions. Now, fill in a pan with a glass full of water and let it heat over medium heat. Now, place a lid on the jar loosely and put it in the pan with the water. As the water heats, the ingredients in the jar will start to melt. Shake or stir occasionally. When all ingredients are completely melted, pour into whatever jar or tin you will use for storage. Batches of small mason jars look really fancy for gifting these DIY beauty products. Stick your own label and ribbon wrap it for a fancier look. You can use this lotion for at least 3-5 months. Make sure to store in a cool, dry place.
4. For your cheeks – Natural homemade blush
One of the best makeup ideas for a rosy/peachy facial glow is the application of a blush. Besides, during winters, are skin gets really sensitive and prone to extreme dryness. So, why not use a chemical-free powder for your cheeks that keeps the skin hydrated as well as protected from the chilly winter wind? All you need to prepare your own blush is 2 tbsp beetroot powder (easy to make at home), which is to be used as a base. Throw in some glitter or shimmer dust for which crushed and powdered nutmeg/ginger will do the trick. Once mixed well and for fragrance, add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil.
