Thus, we’re back to provide insights into the significant milestones your baby may reach at 3 months old.
Important baby milestones at 3 months:
Now that the newborn stage is over, here is what is expected from a three-month-old cuddly-lovely of yours:
1. Growing stomach
For those noticing their baby’s increased appetite, they may find that their little one can now handle larger milk volumes. This is especially relevant for exclusively breastfed infants, signaling an opportune moment to introduce formula milk into their diet. Begin with a minimal amount, gradually adjusting according to the baby’s requirements and preferences.
2. Strong reflexes are fading away & head movement is getting strong
Frighten reflex that was happening way too often during the first two months is now beginning to fade away. Besides, the neck strength is also improving, but you need to continue providing your little one with the head support for about another 2-3 months.
3. Attraction towards color and smiley faces
Your infant continues to show a fascination with vibrant hues, not limited to just toys. Moreover, your baby will engage in prolonged eye contact, reflecting a deepening bond. It’s essential to reciprocate this gaze during interactions, fostering connection and communication with your little one.
4. Steady sleeping pattern
This month, you will see a good change in your baby’s sleep pattern. A stretch of six hours at a time (means a decent goodnight sleep) with just about 1 feed during the night (not with much fuss) means a happy baby and a happy mom!
5. Vision length and hearing is improving
As your baby’s vision continues to develop, they’re increasingly drawn to the comforting sound of their parents’ voices. At this stage, they delight in the melodies of songs and lullabies sung for them, whether to lull them to sleep or simply for entertainment. Additionally, they display a fondness for their own reflection in the mirror, showcasing emerging self-awareness.
